Discover a new perspective to Floso’s culture and engulf yourself in the scent of mystic fables, through our collaboration with the brand Bǔ Fēng「捕風」
Collection: Brand Introduction
Bǔ Fēng「捕風」, meaning "catching the wind," an artisanal perfume house that captures folktales carried and spread on the wind. Passed from voice to voice, these stories have travelled thousands of years through the drifting currents of Chinese history.
The house bottles these whispering breezes into modern fragrances crafted from exquisite, rare raw materials, embodying the quiet elegance of Asian luxury.
Founder-perfumer XIAO Lan draws inspiration from plays, novels, and legends of historical figures, reimagining them into thoughtful narratives and refined scents, where timeless artistry and distinctive invention flow through every breath of Bu Feng.
Perfumer
BUFENG’s founder and director, XIAO Lan, a Chinese perfumer trained professionally in both the United States and France. Her creations carry the structure and elegance of French perfumery, the boldness and innovation of American perfumery, and the cultural depth of traditional Chinese scentcraft, forming a distinctly multilateral and unmistakably Eastern signature.
Raw Material Philosophy
From the mountains to the fields, China’s varied climates nurture botanicals of extraordinary character. Bu Feng’s creations capture the essence of these natural treasures, blending high concentrations of native ingredients into refined perfumes.
The radiant Crimson Glory rose of Yunnan blooms with a fiery elegance; Jasmine Sambac from Guangxi releases a sensual glow; and the aromatic Thyme of Gansu carries a subtle, earthy strength. Each note is a testament to the land that nurtured it, reimagined through Bu Feng’s modern artistry.
Within every bottle, fragrance drifts with the flow of land and history.
Bottle and Box
The Bu Feng bottle is a fusion of art and symbolism, shaped from two spheres to form a minimalist silhouette of a gourd. It pays tribute to traditional gourd vessels, once used for water and alcohol, and in Bu Feng’s reinterpretation, the gourd becomes a vessel of stories, carrying rich narratives rather than liquid. It also reflects the gourd gate found in classical Chinese gardens, a threshold through which wind flows freely, connecting the inner and outer to blending the past with the now. The cap, resembling amber sealed in time, anchors this journey.
The outer box, with its octagonal shape, symbolizes wind and fortune arriving from every direction, and opening it feels like unfolding a scroll. The free-flowing paper fibers on the box, swaying gently like those of handmade ancient paper, echo the timeless texture of history, carried forward by the breeze of modern life.
